Since we haven't had any recent reports of rude boaters on Lake Chickamauga, perhaps you would like to see this story about a bunch of rude boaters in Grand Lake:
To the Editor:
For four generations my family has been enjoying Grand Lake and the fireworks. This year we had our family on three boats including 10 small children.
When the fireworks finished we moved toward the channel. I was leading the way when a pontoon boat went sideways and blocked the bridge. The boats in line waited while the pontoon straightened out and went through the narrow bridge opening; another pontoon had the same problem....
Inconsiderate CarolYou are responsible for your wake. This size boat this close to a marina can really tear up docks and boats!
We will be posting pictures of the "Inconsiderate Boater of The Week". If you have pictures of this type please forward them to us for posting on this page. We will also be happy to post your experiences with boaters like this. E-mail the details and the boat name if known and we will let the rest of our visitors know who to watch out for.
July4"On July 4th, 2006, I was heading straight up-river mid channel near Harrison Bay at a moderate speed when I was overtaken to starboard by a fast moving boat which cut sharply across my bow so closely I could hear the operator's wife\ lady passenger yelling at him to "stop acting the fool". He was 10 feet off my bow - this was a very near miss. He ignored hail and horn. I was furious.
Mr InconsiderateThis guy waked every marina from the dam to the bluffs on Sunday, Aug. 31. Gold Point Marina hollered at him then Big Ridge did also. When called on it he said we ought to "move out of the damn marina and we wouldn't get waked"
